Baby Massage Course
Five weekly sessions of pure heaven (Worthing)
Your Investment: £50
"Touch is the first language we speak" Stephen Gaskin
Baby massage is gentle, rhythmic stroking of your baby’s body with your hands. It is a really lovely way for you to express your love for your baby, and it beautifully enhances the vitally important parent and child bond.
The massage I teach draws from both the Indian and Swedish massage traditions as well as incorporating principles from yoga and reflexology. Whilst the focus is on massaging babies, you will also learn how to massage older children, so your new skills will benefit you and your family for many years to come.

Each session will be filled with supportive conversation, and fuelled with coffee and cake.

General Postnatal Support, (& extra love for Motherless Mothers)
A gentle shoulder to lean on during overwhelming times
Free
My work in the climate movement has given me the opportunity to look after and hold space for many parents who are feeling anxiety - and grief - over all the harm that is being done to our beautiful planet, and fear over what the future may hold.
I hold and support new families by offering healthy outlooks and positive insights, so that parents feel calmer and better prepared to navigate - and enjoy - the huge task of raising a child through the complicated and overwhelming times we're now living through.
A motherless mother myself, I'm experienced in looking after those who for whatever reason, are raising their babies without the the support of their own mother.

As your doula, my support will be threaded through with reassurance and reframes to help you process and manage the big feelings that often arise during these wild and emotionally charged times.

NB: Those who attend the antenatal courses I teach locally are invited to come to my home every Thursday for caffeine, cake and communal support, from 10.30am. My next course, (for Autumn babies), can be booked here.

Do you support all kinds of births?Absolutely. All kinds! There is no 'right way' to give birth - and no two births are the same. My aim is to ensure that every decision you make leading up to the birth is an informed one. Whatever you decide, whatever you want, whatever you need - I'm here for it. I've attended home births, hospital births, water births, caesarean births, induced births, and VBAC births. I have supported people through very long births and very quick births. I have looked after women of all ages and all backgrounds, both low and high risk. Being invited into a birth space is an incredible honour, and it is always a huge privilege to be part of each and every one.

What kind of people do you look after? All kinds! Some people hire me because they are frightened of giving birth. Others because they've had a previous birth experience that wasn't very nice. Some women have lost their mothers and so ask for my help because they need a mother figure to support them. Others are nervous about how they will be treated in the maternity system and want a professional by their side to advocate for them. And some people simply understand the critical importance of being taken care of as they transition into parenthood, and decide to invest in themselves and their family for that reason alone.

Will my partner feel left out during labour and birth? It's a common misconception that a doula 'takes over' the role of the partner, but this couldn't be further from the truth. If I am doing my job properly then you will be feeling completely protected and safe during your labour; utterly in the zone and entirely focused and inward looking. So it will often be the case that at certain times, it will be your partner who needs my support while you get on with the task at hand. It's hard to see the person you love most in the world in pain, and partners can often feel quite afraid and helpless. Part of my role is to reassure your partner and to help them to support you effectively. (Think mini coaching sessions whispered from the sidelines to ensure that your partner is as involved and as helpful as possible.) I protect the pair of you from bright lights, uninvited interference, and anything else that would compromise a peaceful, positive experience. From tucking the two of you up in bed together during a long labour, to feeding you both when energy levels dip, my role is to keep you closely connected throughout.

Do you offer discounts?Absolutely. If my prices are above your budget, then I simply ask that you pay what you can afford. Everyone deserves a doula.
‘Antonia is incredibly reassuring – I felt my anxiety levels reduce after each of our antenatal sessions. She is also a mine of useful information and resources. During and after the birth Antonia instinctively knew what I needed – she was a huge emotional and practical support. Postnatally she nourished both my body and my soul.”
Jane, Mum to baby Robin
"Antonia offered absolutely amazing support from the start. She was incredible, and a massive help to me throughout. I honestly couldn’t have done it without her.”
Vicky, Mum to baby Violet.
“I cannot thank Antonia enough for all the time she spent with us - which was above and beyond what we could ever have expected. She made us so comfortable throughout the whole process which otherwise would have been even more overwhelming.”
Helen, Mum to baby Sofie.
“I can’t tell you how invaluable it was knowing you were a phonecall or a Whatsapp away. I can honestly say that my labour was one of the best nights of my life. It was the most empowering thing I have ever done, and I am so grateful to you for supporting me and getting me through it”
